Kit Wright has been working in schools for many years. In this fun and inspiring workshop he will use special games and exercises to get the children writing their own brilliant poems.

This is a great opportunity for children to work creatively with a fantastic poet in their own classroom.

The Magic Box Kit’s top writing tips: 



1. Don’t be too worried about finding your own voice. The more you write and the more styles you try out, the more it will come naturally.

2. Write ideas down when they occur to you. It’s a good idea to carry a notebook – you never know when something might pop into your head!

3. Read as much as you can. Writers who don’t read are a bit like chefs who don’t eat – you need to appreciate the end product in order to create it.

Materials needed:

  • A flipchart or whiteboard that Kit can write on

  • Paper and pencils for the children

Suitable for children in Years 5 and 6

Maximum numbers: 30 children
Length of workshop: approximately 1 hour
