Following on from his performance at the Royal Exchange, Ulf Stark will open up a discussion with the class about writing in a semi-autobiographical style.
He will then ask children to think of a memory that has a strong personal significance for them and use this as a starting point for a story or poem. He will help the children through the process of creating their own work, finishing the session with the chance for children to share their writing with him and the rest of the class. This is a great opportunity for children to explore the creative process with a world-class writer and become authors in their own right.
Suitable for children in Years 5 and 6
Maximum numbers: 30 children
Length of workshop: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes
Please note that a class teacher should be present throughout the workshop
Children that attend a workshop will receive a FREE copy of Ulf Stark’s Can You Whistle, Johanna? to take home with them.
