The Children’s Bookshow and The Independent offer you a chance to win:
We asked acclaimed children’s poet Kit Wright to set a creative challenge that will inspire you all to get writing. So pick up your pens and pencils and put your thinking caps on. Kit will be waiting to choose the winning entries.
Kit’s challenge is to write a poem that uses a picture as its inspiration. You can choose any picture you like. It could be an Old Master or a favourite family photograph. You can use the whole picture as your starting point or just a part of it. Just remember to include a print-out of the picture that inspired you when you send us your poem!
The poem can be any length and any form, it can rhyme or not – you decide!
Just send it to us by November 30th 2013 for a chance to win our fabulous prizes.
There are 2 age categories for the competition:
Under 9
9 to 13
To submit your entry:
please email your poem and a copy of the picture that inspired you to thechildrensbookshow@gmail.com. You must include the following information:

The two runners-up in each category will each receive a signed copy of Kit’s anthology The Magic Box published by Macmillan
The closing date for the competition is November 30th 2013. Entries received after this date will not be accepted.
