Welcome to The Children’s Bookshow 2011

an annual tour of children’s authors and illustrators from the UK and abroad. The theme for this, our 9th Bookshow, is Simply the Best, and we have an exciting line up of critically acclaimed artists to inspire children with their enthusiasm and passion for stories.

This year we have 13 authors and illustrators performing in 13 different theatres around the country through September, October and November.

Many of our authors and illustrators are already household names, some of them may be new to you, but all are among the most exciting artists writing and illustrating for children today.

This year we are delighted to be able to offer 52 FREE workshops alongside our performances. These lively workshops offer an invaluable opportunity for the children to develop their own creative skills by working with an author or illustrator in their own classroom. Book tickets for a performance near you to be eligible for one of our FREE school workshops.

Why should the children have all the fun! This year we shall be running a limited number of workshops and seminars for teachers, librarians and anyone interested in children’s literature. We are currently finalising the details, but more information will follow in the next few weeks.
